We are currently seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a supportive, inclusive, and forward-thinking learning environment for 6th form students with moderate to complex learning difficulties (SLD/MLD).

The school is committed to preparing learners for adulthood beyond the classroom, with an ambitious and engaging curriculum that focuses on life skills, independence, and personal growth. Staff are passionate about enabling every student to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally, while building confidence and preparing for future pathways.

Key Responsibilities of a Learning Support Assistant:

* Support teaching staff in delivering a personalised and engaging curriculum tailored to individual needs.
* Maintain the safeguarding and health & safety policies of the school at all times, ensuring a safe learning environment.
* Demonstrate a strong understanding of ASD and other learning barriers, adapting approaches to ensure all learners can access the curriculum.
* Promote independence and social development by encouraging students to take part in group and individual activities.
* Assist with classroom organisation, behaviour management, and the planning of daily learning activities.
* Provide one-to-one or small group support where needed, ensuring that every child receives the guidance they require.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to deliver holistic learning experiences.
* Contribute to the emotional well-being of students by offering patience, encouragement, and positive reinforcement.

Benefits:

* A warm, welcoming, and supportive team who are passionate about inclusive education.
* Classrooms with smaller group sizes, allowing for more individualised support and interaction.
* Ongoing training and professional development opportunities to help you grow in your role.
* Excellent facilities designed to enhance student learning and independence.
* Convenient location - just a 5-minute walk from the nearest station in Harrow.

Ideal Learning Support Assistant:

* Previous experience working in a school or health & social care setting is desirable, though enthusiasm and the right attitude are equally valued.
* A caring, resilient, and proactive personality, with a commitment to making a positive difference.
* Ability to adapt quickly, show initiative, and remain calm under pressure.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills to work effectively alongside staff, parents, and external professionals.
