Description:
The Bursar has oversight of all financial records and transactions for all current and former students. They maintain the school's student financial records including student billing, payments, and refund processing. The position is responsible for all related compliance with State and Federal regulations, and works closely with other departments including Controller, Financial Aid, Registrar, and other departments.
Requirements:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but other duties may be assigned:
Manage student tuition and fee billing based on scheduled credits and cost per credit and required fees based on term / courses being taken within the term. Post of New York State TAP rosters, ensuring student eligibility. Review and approval of all federal funds rosters for student eligibility. Monitor student credit balances and issue credit balance refund checks in conjunction with the Controller. Monitor withdrawn students' activity and ensure federal funds are returned in accurate and timely manner, including completion of R2T4s and adjusting student accounts as needed to reflect tuition adjustment and ensuring any required refunds are made. Supervise daily loan and grant receipts and refund generation process including Title IV compliance. Manages all student related third-party invoicing and related collection process. Ensure institutional scholarships are posted timely and accurately. Analyze student ledgers for accuracy and ensure proper posting of all charges and payments. Provide support to management as needed. Process student payments via cash or credit card, as needed. Provide weekly, monthly, quarterly annual analysis reports, generated in Excel from Student Information System. Apply registration holds on past due accounts per institutional policy. Other duties as assigned.

On-site required.

Some weekends and evenings may be required.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, accounting or related field preferred. Experience: Must have 3 to 5 years' experience in Bursar Operations. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel including pivot tables Proven ability to effectively communicate with students and / or parents as well as other departments, in order to resolve problems and answer questions. Customer service: 2 years (Required) Effective time management skills and attention to detail. Knowledge of financial aid funding a plus.
