Are you an experienced Machine Operator looking for a new temporary contract? We're hiring a proactive and self-motivated individual to join a busy team in the Shepton Mallet area. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on person to take on a key role.
About the Role
This position involves operating machinery for the safe transport of materials and other duties. You should be prepared for a physically demanding role, as you'll be working outdoors and performing manual labor and general yard duties. You'll also be responsible for ensuring the machine's operational readiness and assisting with site maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operate machinery for safe material transport, stacking, and loading/unloading.
* Conduct pre-use checks and routine maintenance on the machine.
* Perform manual labor, including lifting up to 25kg and shoveling concrete.
* Assist with maintaining a clean and organized site.
About You
We're looking for someone with a strong work ethic and a commitment to safety.
Essential Requirements:
* A valid UK driving licence and access to a car.
* Operate a counterbalance forklift for safe material transport, stacking, and loading/unloading.
* Previous experience in a quarry environment.
* Willingness to perform physically demanding manual labor.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills and a good understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation.
Details & Benefits
* Pay Rate: GBP13.56 per hour, with overtime at x1.5 (Monday-Saturday) and double pay on Sundays.
* Contract: An initial 6-month contract with the possibility of extension.
* Hours: Full-time, 42.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM).
