Job Summary

The overriding mission for Engineering Response Team (ERT) is to protect the work week schedule and address emergent issues to minimize the impact on engineering core business.  ERT Civil / Structural Engineer will provide maintenance with field support pertaining to simple troubleshooting and lead complex troubleshooting activities with maintenance and operations.  Support maintenance and planning by resolving engineering technical issues within the work management process, this includes resolving work order holds assigned to engineering. Develop and review riggings plans, assess damaged or degraded structures, and develop repair plans. Perform permanent and temporary configuration changes and operability determinations. Also, required to support outages and participate in the Emergency Response Organization.  The successful candidate will also perform other assigned duties as determined by the Salem Emergent Response Team Branch Manager.  The successful candidate will be responsible for balancing work time to accomplish assigned tasks. 

Job Responsibilities

•    Performing structural engineering design and analysis for PWR systems/structures/components to resolve complex technical issues.
•    Preparation and review of plant configuration change packages and design calculations in accordance with plant procedures.
•    Performing walkdowns to verify as-built conditions and confirm modification scope. 
•    Leading multi-discipline teams as the Lead Responsible Engineer for plant design changes.
•    Supporting plant emergent issues and generation challenges.
•    Providing outage engineering support which may require shift work/off hours support. 
•    Participation in the Emergency Response Organization, in which the successful candidate will be assigned a specific duty. 
•    Performing other assigned duties as determined by the ERT Manager
 

Job Specific Qualifications

Required:
•    BS Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. 
•    3-5 years of experience in the nuclear or relevant industry performing Structural/seismic design/analysis. 
•    Ability to inspect structures, systems, and components in the industrial areas of nuclear power plant. 
•    Availability for Shift Work during plant outages and generation challenges. 
•    Knowledge of AISC & ACI design codes, NRC requirements for safety-related structures, and software analysis tools such as GT Strudl or equivalent. 
•    Must meet Nuclear requirements for Unescorted Plant Access.

A valid Real ID or an approved form of alternate documentation (pseg/IDrequirement) is required for this job. Must provide appropriate documentation to meet access requirements on the date of hire.

 Desired:
•    Greater than seven years of experience in Nuclear Power Plant Engineering.
•    Experience in pipe stress and pipe support analysis, design, and software analysis tools such as ME-101 or equivalent. 
•    Knowledge of ASME B31.1, ASME Section III, ASME Section IX, and NRC requirements for piping design.
•    Professional engineering license.
