Executive Assistant (EA) to the Police and Crime Commissioner for Dorset (PCC)

Location: Police Headquarters, Winfrith, Dorset

Salary: Scale F - Starting salary is A£33,264 per annum, rising by annual increments to a maximum of A£38,754 per annum.(Please note that the above salary is based on working 37 hours per week. If this role is part-time or you are appointed on a part-time basis your salary will be prorated to reflect this. Exceptions to starting salary may apply if you are an existing Devon & Cornwall or Dorset Police Staff employee substantively posted to a role at the same Scale)

Hours: This role is 37 hours per week. However, we welcome applications from individuals wishing to work on a part-time basis and we are willing to consider flexible working patterns subject to business need.

About the Role

Are you an organised, discreet, and highly motivated professional looking to make a real difference in public service? This is a rare opportunity to join the small, dedicated team of the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Dorset. We are seeking a proactive and experienced Executive Assistant to support the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) in delivering their strategic priorities and public duties. This is a pivotal role requiring high levels of confidentiality, excellent judgement and strong administrative expertise.

You will need proven experience in a senior administrative or executive assistant role and have excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills. The role requires a high level of professionalism, integrity and ability to prioritise effectively and work independently.

Key Recruitment Dates

Step 1: All applications submitted for shortlisting will be reviewed on Tuesday 4th November 2025.

Step 2: Candidates successful at Step 1 will be invited to complete an assessment and have an informal face-to-face conversation about the role. These will both take place on Monday 17th November 2025. The assessment will consist of a work-based written exercise.

Step 3: Candidates successful at Step 2 will be invited for a face-to-face structured interview on Thursday 20th November 2025.

Annual Leave Entitlement

25 days a year leave entitlement, with an increase to 30 days after 5 years continuous employment, plus bank holidays (pro-rata for part time employees).
