About the Role

We now have an opportunity for a
Quality & Food Safety Systems
Manager to lead the development and execution of our quality and food safety strategy across Australia & globally.
 

You’ll ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, customer standards, and internal policies—while fostering a culture of food safety, quality excellence, and operational integrity.
 

This role plays a key part in shaping global initiatives. You’ll drive the creation of enterprise-wide strategies, standards, and performance metrics, and lead continuous improvement efforts—including digital transformation—to elevate performance and ensure alignment across regions.
 

This is a full time, permanent position based at either our Berri Estates or Rowland Flat facility.
 

Key Responsibilities

-Lead the Quality & Food Safety function across all national operations, including manufacturing, logistics, and distribution.
-Develop and execute country-specific strategies aligned with global priorities.

-Ensure compliance with local and international food safety regulations and certifications (e.g., ISO 22000, GFSI, HACCP).

-Oversee audits, inspections, and certification processes, ensuring readiness and successful outcomes.

-Drive continuous improvement of Quality and Food Safety Management Systems (QMS & FSMS).

-Lead risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).

-Manage supplier quality assurance for raw materials and packaging.

-Champion digital transformation initiatives to enhance quality performance and efficiency.

-Collaborate with global teams to shape strategy, standards, KPIs, and digital tools.

-Build and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of ownership, compliance, and excellence.
 
 

Other requirements:
 

-Some business travel (domestic and international) may be required from time to time
-Occasional out of hours work may be required
 

What We're Looking For:

-Bachelor’s or master’s degree in food science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field
-10+ years’ experience in Quality and Food Safety roles within food, beverage, or FMCG industries, including at least 3 years in leadership role

-HACCP, FSSC/ISO 22000 Lead Auditor

-Strategic thinking with strong execution and stakeholder influence

-In-depth knowledge of international regulatory environments and food safety standards

-Demonstrated ability to drive digital transformation and process automation in quality

-Strong leadership, coaching, and cross-functional collaboration skills

-Data-driven, analytical, and KPI-focused mindset

-Excellent written and verbal communication; fluent in English (additional languages a plus)
