COUNTER SALES MANAGER
JOB OBJECTIVE : Provide support and manage the daily activities of the Counter Sales personnel while assisting in providing prompt, courteous service for walk-in customers.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS : Train Counter Sales and Inside Salespersons to be effective with customers and increase sales profits. Work closely with the Branch Manager on an overall sales direction and establish and execute a market strategy for the counter area which is in line with the strategy for the branch. Review monthly sales objectives with the Branch Manager. Handle customer complaints and disputes with grace. Maintain strong relations with local suppliers. Handle inside sales calls and job ordering for major house accounts. Review daily sales activity for accuracy, completeness and profit. Maintain and reconcile the daily counter cash box. Assist with incoming sales calls along with waiting on customers. Oversee the counter area making sure there is adequate stock on the shelves while keeping the area clean and organized. Change and update displays in the counter area. All other tasks assigned by management.
Requirements:
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS : Must have a bachelor's degree in Industrial Distribution or a business degree or have a minimum of 2 years of plumbing distribution Counter or Inside Sales experience or equivalent.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Lifting 25-pound objects frequently; and 50-pound objects occasionally is required. Climbing ladders, stairs, and ramps. Balancing. Pushing and pulling. Crouching and kneeling. Reaching. Grasping objects. Hearing: perceiving the nature of sounds with or without correction.
VISION REQUIREMENTS : Minimum vision required, with or without correction, to properly and efficiently perform job responsibilities and prevent injury to oneself and others.
JOB STANDARDS : Abide by all policies, rules and regulations of Briggs Inc. of Omaha including all applicable safety rules and regulations. Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical skills.
JOB LOCATION AND EXPOSURES : Activities occur inside and outside. The associate is subject to the following conditions: extreme cold and extreme heat temperatures; hazards such as moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, and working in high places.
EQUIPMENT USED : Computer, printer, telephone, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, ladder, rolling cart, razor cutter, tubing cutter, tape gun, Forklift, Pallet Jack.
ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS : Attendance on a regular, consistent basis is mandatory.
