JOB – Mechanical Design Engineer (Inventor)
LOCATION – Newcastle
TERM – Permanent
SALARY – £30,000 to £40,000 per annum (plus benefits)
My client is a specialist engineering company working across a range of industrial sectors. They are looking to take on a Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in Inventor to join their design team in Newcastle.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
• Experience in mechanical design within manufacturing or engineering environments
• Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor
• Ability to produce detailed 3D models, drawings, and BOMs
• Knowledge of sheet metal, machined parts, and assemblies
• Engineering qualification (HND, HNC, BEng, MEng, or similar)
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Good communication skills (written and verbal)
The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:
• Designing mechanical components and assemblies using Inventor and SolidWorks
• Producing 3D models and 2D engineering drawings
• Generating and managing Bills of Materials (BOMs)
• Supporting the design and development of machinery and bespoke equipment
• Liaising with production, purchasing, and project teams to ensure manufacturability
• Modifying and improving existing designs to meet client requirements
• Ensuring designs comply with company and industry standards
