Position Summary
As a Cashier (Store Clerk), you are the face of Town Pump
, playing a crucial role in providing excellent customer service. This is a dynamic position that involves greeting customers, processing transactions accurately, stocking shelves, and ensuring the store and facilities are clean and inviting for all our guests.
Responsibilities
-Customer Service: Greet all customers with a friendly smile and provide prompt, friendly, and efficient service. Respond to and resolve customer complaints in a positive manner.
-Transactions: Operate a computerized cash register to accept various forms of payment, including cash, credit cards, gift cards, and EBT.
-Merchandise: Stock, price, and rotate merchandise to ensure shelves and displays are always full and well-organized. This includes restocking shelves and coolers.
-Cleaning & Maintenance: Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing housekeeping duties both inside and outside the store, including the restrooms, deli, and fuel pump areas. Duties also include shoveling snow and cleaning gas pumps.
-Deli Operations: In smaller locations, this role may assist with basic deli duties, including preparing and stocking food items.
-Compliance: Monitor alcohol sales to ensure all legal age requirements are met.
-Communication: Answer and screen phone calls professionally.
Qualifications
-High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
-Prior experience in a customer service or retail environment is a plus.
-Ability to handle cash and transactions accurately.
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
-Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and some holidays.
-Must be able to pass Montana State Approved Alcohol Education Training.
