We are looking for a passionate and fearless Senior Store Design Manager who will play a key role in delivering on the promise of SEPHORA’s innovative retail experience. Collaborating with Store Development’s cross-functional partners (Real Estate, Construction, Procurement, Estimating, Workflow, Budget Team, Accounting, and Maintenance), this position contributes to SEPHORA’s success by elevating the overall quality of our clients’ experience while meeting costs, schedules, and operational requirements.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working through the complexities of problem-solving for unique site conditions, including new stores, relocations, expansions, remodels, and special projects. They will maintain a relentless eye on the best design solution for any given project at any point in the project lifespan.

Additionally, the Senior Store Design Manager will support the Manager, Store Design with basic questions from Store Designers, training, proofing of work, rough draft designs, aid in developing training processes for the team, conducting office hours for process/CAD training, and designing complex projects.

-Provide planning, interior elevations and storefront design studies based on our current Sephora design standards and specific site conditions. Design for unique conditions. Advocate for the design, ensuring we always put our best foot forward. Assist or lead special projects as required
-Initiate start of project with Architects, Engineers, Sign Manufactures, and Permit Expeditors with store design approved drawings, scope of work, LOI and specific design information.
-Initiate project communications with Real Estate, Construction, Procurement and Workflow via Internal Alignment Conference calls; followed by an External Alignment conference call with Landlord, Architects, and Workflow Management to ensure that all obligatory scope of work, design elements, and schedules are understood and incorporated into the construction documents.
-Continue communications and coordinate closely with Real Estate, Construction, Procurement, Project Estimating, Workflow, Merchandising, Budget team and Accounting throughout all stages of the project. Coordinate closely with Store Team Field Operations to ensure a successful store opening.
-Oversee and coordinate outside consultants such as survey teams, permit expediters, architects, signage, photographer, and engineers, and third-party inspectors, to ensure project documents are accurate for landlord review, permitting,
-Explore the best options to expedite permit and landlord approvals. Act as primary contact between Sephora and tenant coordinators. Meet face-to-face as required. Partner with AOR to track permit approvals to ensure construction starts on schedule
-Quality control by checking all drawings to meet Sephora design standards and criteria. Coordinate with outside consultants’ architects and ensure that drawings are accurate, and construction will begin on schedule. Continue quality control throughout the lifecycle to ensure that information is correct
-After starting construction, collaborate and communicate with construction project managers and architectural and engineering consultants to quickly respond to shop drawing approvals, and RFIs
-Be a responsible liaison for specific tasks to align and elevate all levels of Store Development processes and procedures. Aid manager with new initiatives with the store development team, and cross-functional partners, such as Budget and Accounting, Store Surveys, template coordination and Project Coordination with external partners. Research and provide new industry standards and insight to continually improve upon the delivery of on-brand, beautiful, functional and cost-effective stores

-Eight to ten years of related experience in Retail Architecture, Retail Design or similar field.
-Highly proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite
-Experienced with one or more computer visualization (SketchUp, Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
-Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or interior design.

The annual base salary range for this position is $132,005.00 - $145,550.00 The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses.
